Tom Faison Realtors Washington DC Area

A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Tom attended Guildford College. His unbridled energy proved a natural for his first job as a horse trainer in Warrenton, Virginia. In 1990 Tom was licensed as a realtor and took honors in 1991 as the top first year licensee. Finding real estate the perfect fit for his spirit and enthusiasm, he quickly won GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designation and earned his broker’s license in 2000. Tom’s success is directly proportionate to his prowess at and pleasure in what he does. In fact, each year since 1997, Tom has sold in excess of $20 million in Washington DC real estate.

Tom sees his role this way:

“I know most clients start out thinking of their realtor as a salesperson. I hope that by the close of our first meeting I’m able to change that perception. Substantially.

First off, I think of myself as an educator…maybe a “tutor” is more like it. I try to inform my clients about the homebuying process, so first time buyers, in particular, feel more comfortable. After all, buying a house, especially 3 br houses in DC area, is 50% an emotional decision, 50% a financial decision.

I try to learn how my clients live before I go and show them houses they’d be happy living in. It’s not just about the number of bathrooms or even the location. It’s finding out what are the “must haves”, the compromise points and the deal breakers. Frankly, by the end of my first meeting with a new client, their original priorities often change subtstantially.

It’s my job to help clients be realistic…or they aren’t going to be satisfied with the process, much less the home they end up with. I may lose a few clients through my honesty, but I more than make up for it in the number of people who buy their 2nd and 3rd home from me."

Jason Townsend

A native of Houston, Texas, Jason Townsend has made Washington his home since 1993. After graduating from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1997 with an International Economics degree, Jason moved to Capitol Hill. He started working for Sotheby's International Realty in 1996 where he served as a Marketing and Administrative Director. In January 2001 Jason began working with The Tom Faison Group. In 2004, Jason won his GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designation and earned his Broker's license.

In Jason’s words:

“Real estate is more about a life-style than a job. I enjoy selling homes for the same reasons that people enjoy Washington and decide to live in the metropolitan area. I particularly like the architectural and demographic diversity of the city, and I’m fascinated by the relational and emotional side of buying/selling a house.

After all, a home is more than just an asset. Whatever the price range, making sure that the deal is done well and to everyone’s satisfaction takes top priority for me. Yes, it’s important to be sensitive to the investment aspect of any real estate transaction, but it’s also important to be attentive to the personal and sentimental realities of a deal. I work hard to be available and accommodating to clients’ schedules and demands. That way the whole process is as easy and stress-free as possible for everyone.”

Tina Zanti

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tina Zanti graduated St. Josephs University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1995. Tina used the skills gained while minoring in communications to full advantage while coaching various Fortune 500 companies on how to improve their internal communications.

After a stint in Boston as manager of a “professionals” temporary company, Tina moved to Washington in 1999 to head up offices for the entire DC region. Always nurturing a keen interest in real estate, Tina bought 3 properties from Tom Faison over the course of three years. She joined the Tom Faison Group as a buyer’s agent in 2002.

In Tina’s words:

"My first home buying experience was in Boston and I’d have to say I was relatively happy with the process. It turned out to be a good investment, too. Then I moved to Washington and bought my first house through Tom. Then a second. And a third. I learned just how easy—and smart—the whole process could be. And I decided to trade in a successful management career for one in real estate. No looking back.

Tom had taught me the value of making one of the greatest stress producing decision s of one’s life a pleasure. In some ways, a joy. And that’s what I’m all about…turning the sometimes arduous, always tension-riddled process of buying a home into a very positive experience for the buyer. I ask the right questions. I listen. I do my homework. And I find properties that fulfill my clients needs. And wants. I make them happy. And that makes me happy."

Kjersten Drager

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Kjersten moved to Washington, DC in 1996 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked on Capitol Hill for 5 years and then at the White House before helping to found a prominent governmental affairs consulting firm.

Kjersten and her husband bought and sold properties on Capitol Hill through Tom and his team and found it such a great experience that, finally realizing her passion for the world of real estate, she decided she wanted to join The Tom Faison Group as an agent.

In Kjersten’s Words:

"My goal is to make buying and selling a home a positive experience. When I bought and sold my homes using Tom, I was able to avoid the stress and continue focusing on my career and family. I realize the demands that people in the Washington area face and I would like to make home buying and selling as easy as possible."

Jesse R. Hagopian

Born in South Yarmouth of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Jesse enjoyed growing up in a friendly, family oriented community and later worked with a local commercial fishing venture. After graduating with a political Studies degree from Gordon College in 2002, he moved to Washington, DC to serve as office manager of a trade association. Recognizing his passion for real estate, Jesse obtained his real estate license in MD, VA, and DC and joined the Tom Faison Group in the summer of 2005.

In Jesse ’s Words:

"Learning what is important for a client and adding our team's experience, expertise, and hard work is an unfailing formula for success in buying and selling real estate. Guiding a variety of people through this careful process and being with them as they discover the unique and diverse neighborhoods within our Nation's Capitol City is a joy for me.

Purchasing a home is one of the most important financial and personal decisions people make since this decision reflects their priorities and influences their future. My aim is to serve each client with patience, diligence, and expertise as they weigh their different preferences, concerns, and needs."

Kenneth Au

Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Ken graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 2002. He later moved to the DC Metro area in 2004 where he worked for AT&T Government Solutions in Tyson's Corner as a Systems Design Engineer/Consultant. After renting for three years in Pentagon city, Ken and his wife purchased a 2 unit fixer upper row house in Capitol Hill where he rents one unit and lives in the other. The purchase of his new home fueled his desire to enter real estate, which led him to join the Tom Faison Group in 2007.

In Kenneth’s Words:

"Wanting a place where you can fully unwind after a long day at work, a place that is welcoming and conducive for entertaining, a place that can facilitate the demands of a family's needs are some of the criteria that make a home enjoyable to live in. What is fascinating about real estate is finding the 'house' that satisfies those criteria and that 'house' is different for each person especially in a city such as DC.

Having a wife who is from Hong Kong, I appreciate the cultural diversity that the DC metropolitan area has to offer. I enjoy getting to know people and their interests, which makes it a pleasure to help them when they're buying or selling a house. I assist, inform, listen, guide, and hopefully celebrate in each transaction."
